Clinics & Services

Your Doctor will try and find the best way of making you better.  This may not involve giving you medicine or tablets, as there are other ways to treat you, such as advice on how to prevent illnesses in the future.

The surgery provides minor surgery, but if you need specialist advice or treatment, you will be referred to the hospital.  Patients with minor injuries should attend Casualty.

Well Women Services

All women are able to attend for a cervical smear and other routine checks as well as advice on health matters.  These appointments can be arranged during surgery hours and require a double appointment.

Maternity Services

We offer antenatal and postnatal care in co-operation with the midwife and hospital.  Your Health Visitor attends the clinics to give help and advice.

Community Midwife – Kaela Fox - Tawe Team

Community midwives provide ante-natal care for all mothers-to-be registered at this surgery.  You will know your midwife from soon after the time your pregnancy is confirmed as she will normally visit you at home at 10 to 14 weeks for the “booking” visit and be involved in your subsequent ante-natal care.  Please ask the receptionist for the contact details of the Midwife who will arrange for you to be booked in.  She may, if available, assist in home birth if you have chosen that option.  After home and hospital births, the community midwife will visit you and your baby at home, as necessary, for up to 28 days post-natal.  She will check how you are getting on and can give advice about any concerns you have.

Your hospital ante-natal clinic and maternity unit is at Singleton Hospital

Well Baby Clinic

Childhood immunisation is very important and safe.  It is undertaken in this clinic and we encourage attendance.  In addition your baby’s progress will periodically be checked by a doctor or health visitor.  We request that you do not bring children who are unwell to this clinic as they may pass on their illness to others.

Please note that any babies arriving in clinic after 1.45pm can no longer be seen and will be asked to attend the next Well Baby Clinic.
